exCELLENT hospitality

Lumbe Pools offers a truly unique Zambezi River experience in the heart of Barotseland.

We want you to experience something special when you visit our camp in Barotseland! It’s everything we know you will love from a visit to the Zambezi with the added ‘wow’ of our magic little secret, the Lumbe River! Right from the outset, we wanted Lumbe Pools to be different – in the best way.

Found out below makes us DIFFERENT to other camps on the Zambezi?

What makes us different?

Open-Air Chalets

Our chalets are open to the river from all corners – our beds, our chairs, the shower, the bath and even the toilet! It’s so much better when you can hear the river, smell the wilderness and feel the breezes.

What makes us different?

Experience 2 different rivers from one location

Lumbe Pools camp is situated on the banks of not just one river, but two completely different but equally beautiful rivers. The magic and pristine Lumbe and the mighty Zambezi.

What makes us different?

“Beach” & River Activities

We offer different things – beach boule, freshwater snorkelling, drift based tiger fishing, the Sioma Falls, beach golf and much more.

Lumbe pools accommodation

What can you expect to find in your chalet?

Our open-air chalets are situated overlooking the Zambezi and have a very “open air” feel. Our rooms can be configured as twins or kings and are all en-suite. All bathrooms have showers, double sinks and flush toilets and 2 of the bathrooms have freestanding baths. Lumbe Pools is best experienced by one or two families or a group of friends.

Tiger fishing at Lumbe Pools

Tiger fishing is one of our most popular activities and definitely a major attraction. We are located in the famous Barotseland province and we are the only permanent camp on our section of the Upper Zambezi River between the Kaale Rapids and the Sioma Falls. That means you will have about 40kms of Zambezi mostly to yourselves!

What else is on offer at Lumbe Pools?

Lumbe Pools is not just about the rooms and the fishing! It’s a place to relax and take in the magic around you.

The Rosewood Lookout is something special – overlooking the confluence and great place to grab a book and a drink and relax.

Relax on our beach loungers or under gazebos on private beaches next to the pools.

Our main area has a lounge, fire pit and a well stocked bar to relax around and is situated on the high point of the peninsula.
