Lumbe Pools offers a truly unique Zambezi River experience in the heart of Barotseland.

We want you to experience something special when you visit our camp in Barotseland! It’s everything we know you will love from a visit to the Zambezi with the added ‘wow’ of our magic little secret, the Lumbe River! Right from the outset, we wanted Lumbe Pools to be different – in the best way.

Found out below makes us DIFFERENT to other camps on the Zambezi?

What makes us different?

Open-Air Chalets

Our chalets are open to the river from all corners – our beds, our chairs, the shower, the bath and even the toilet! It’s so much better when you can hear the river, smell the wilderness and feel the breezes.

LUMBE ACTIVITIES

Tiger fishing at Lumbe Pools

Tiger fishing is one of our most popular activities and definitely a major attraction. We are located in the famous Barotseland province and we are the only permanent camp on our section of the Upper Zambezi River between the Kaale Rapids and the Sioma Falls. That means you will have about 40kms of Zambezi mostly to yourselves!

TIGER FISHING PACKAGES

What else is on offer at Lumbe Pools?

Lumbe Pools is not just about the rooms and the fishing! It’s a place to relax and take in the magic around you.

The Rosewood Lookout is something special – overlooking the confluence and great place to grab a book and a drink and relax.

Relax on our beach loungers or under gazebos on private beaches next to the pools.

Our main area has a lounge, fire pit and a well stocked bar to relax around and is situated on the high point of the peninsula.
